Research has shown that well-educated persons tend to move more abroad. 47% of these persons possess a master’s degree, followed by 33% that has a bachelor’s degree.  An interview with expats’ confirms that moving to a new country is mainly because of the career path that is being followed. Since 2015 there is also a rise in numbers regarding contentment in work-life balance and work-hours. 

Ever since the global pandemic appeared, more companies recommended their employees to start working from home to prevent too many people from gathering in the office. Currently, you even see more employees who like to combine it and prefer to continue hybrid. This became recently an important aspect in the work field of the future since a part of the employees consider working remotely as their dream job. Tips to prepare before arriving at the final destination:

4. Pre-learn the local language. Watch videos for beginners from YouTube or use Duolingo to practice. It is easy to find schools where you can learn the spoken language of the country and the community loves to help!

5. Check your insurance policies and make sure to change it to international. *Be aware to always inform about stays longer than 5 months abroad. Sometimes there is another insurance for longer stays.

6. It is recommended to visit the location you are moving to in advance (especially to view the housing and prevent scams).

7. Prepare for cultural shocks. Learn to adapt and understand.
